FFwD ~ A non-Muenster Cheese Souffle post

While the gurls at

are enjoying their
from
due to timing woes (but I might just swing it tomorrow - might!)

I am catching up with an earlier dish
~Dorie's Go-to Beef Daube~
 at 1/3 of the recipe
*sans brandy and substituted parsnips with potatoes*
served with toasted sundried tomato bread
with simple salad of
japanese cucumber/tomato/spring onion/purple grapes
tossed in a concoction of:
red wine vinegar/olive oil/salt n pepper/wholegrain mustard
one small portion of the beef stew left...

I couldn't do the entire recipe either. Half the recipe fed us for several days. Hope you get to the souffle too though because it's very tasty.

This was a great choice for a catch up. I think it's one of the group's all-time favourites. I caught up on another of her beef dishes this week, the Boeuf à la Mode.

I still have to make that beef daube. Yours looks delicious!

Sounds like your beef came out deliciously, based on the small amount of leftovers :-)

Good substitution! I've made this recipe quite a few times - so handy when it's helpful to do things ahead, or if you want things to simmer while you are doing other things. I often cheat and put some in small servings into the freezer so I can have something easy when I come home from work.

Hi Emily,

I was going to buy this Dorie's book too last year but decided to give it a miss... Now, seeing your stew, I re-considering my purchase now.
