CCC ~ September 2015 ~ make-up month

Much thanks and appreciation to
for organizing this cook-along-with-Hugh!
And if you are keen to join our group
check it out HERE!
and join up!

September is another month solely for catch-up / make-up
past recipes one missed the first time around
I choose to complete the four recipes I did not make in August!
and here they are:
Above: Tomato and mozzarella risotto ~ Page 272
I paired the risotto with the stuffed peppers
Above: Stuffed peppers with new potatoes, feta and pesto ~ pg 349
***
And here is another dinner pairing:
crunchy - best eaten immediately after exit from oven!
Above: Cheat's cauliflower cheese - pg 378
with
Above: Spelt (barley) salad with squash and fennel ~ pgs 72-73
DH enjoyed both dinners and asked for a repeat of the barley salad!

want the recipes?  go buy a copy of it!

Hi Emily, I loved the cheat's cauliflower and cheese too, have not made the other dishes yet, I need a make-up for the make-up. Anyway, another great month!

Hi Emily, nice selection of choices for the month! Cheat's Cauliflower is one of my top fav's in the cookbook. I may even prepare it for the holiday's this year. I have also prepared the peppers with potatoes and pesto, a unique and tasty combination. Hope you liked the risotto, I'm intrigued with it but the tomato in risotto for some reason doesn't seem to grab me, maybe I should think a bit out of the box from wild mushrooms, or saffron! I can't help myself on those two of my risotto favorites. Wonderful to see you! Enjoy the month ahead.

Hi Emily.....it all looks so good! Thank you for sending me a link to this great group! I did leave a note to join and ordered my book (hope it comes soon!). Though I loved baking with you in the Cake Slice, I'm trying to put more work and emphasis on my new blog, A Salad For All Seasons. So I think this will be the perfect group for me! Looking forward to creating with everyone soon!

Dear Emily, all your four dishes look delightful and tasty and very seasonal - a perfect selection for our make-up month! And it is nice to read that you and your husband are enjoying all these lovely dishes so much!
Thank you for your continued participation in The Cottage Cooking Club - and I did receive the note from Anne and told her that we are looking forward to have her participate in the group next month! Hope her book arrives soon!
All the best for now and "see" you soon!
Andrea

Great choices, Emily! I don't think I've made any of those, but your photos are making me want to try them. :)

All of your dishes look wonderful Emily and you know they're a hit when family requests them again. The tomato risotto was one of last month's favourites with my kids.

Looks like some great dishes, Emily! I really liked the stuffed peppers--something different!

Emily, Great round-up of missed recipes. My missed recipes list is longer than yours but there are many things I hope to make this Winter when I have more time. The Cheats Cauliflower is one of those. Califlower is one of my favorite veggies so anyway it's served I like it. Thank you for reminding me of this dish. The stuffed peppers were not only good when I made them but beautiful to photograph. Like Andrea said this month, love the veggies with vivid colors. Risotto looks delicious. The barley salad? Hmmmm. Didn't appeal to me but maybe. Nice post.

Emily, your dishes look great! I didn't get to the cauliflower - though maybe I have some! I'll look. I know everyone else enjoyed it - all of your dishes look delicious!! I did make the risotto, but so much fun to see your other selections too!
