FFwD ~ Couscous Salad

Finishing up the roasted peppers in a pumpkin
in fish broth soup - seasoned with garam marsala,
with onions and garlic,
garnished with a splash of cream and
topped with toasted almond slices
this Friday's
Couscous salad topped
with crispy fried fish
with a lemon pepper rub
topped with a spoonful of the pumpkin soup
to DH - woohoo - please save some
of your soup to go with the fish and couscous salad!
my variation was:
saffron threads in place of turmeric,
ground mustard, slices of fresh ginger
and I forgot about the chopped sweet peas
(which I did buy)
above: the last sweet pastry shell
filled with a layer of Dorie's Lemon curd!
with slices of strawberries and kiwi fruit
with maple syrup drizzled over the top!
Delish with extra chopped tomatoes and japanese cucumber
with olive oil and balsamic dressing
with store bought Beef Kurma;
the salad was also good with Chicken Rendang
and lastly with spicy sardines (that's tomorrow's dinner)
above: I used the roasted peppers in the pasta too
beneath the forest of asparagus!

  1. Another delicious week for you!!! Your couscous salad looks marvelous, Emily!

  2. My goodness, looks like you spent most of your week in the kitchen! That's quite a line up.

  3. I think I need to move to your house. You did some mighty fine cooking and baking this week, Emily. Did you serve your couscous with the fish on top warmn, hot or just room temperature. I liked it when it was hot but put it in the fridge as Dorie suggested. Looking forward to what you have planned next week.

  4. Wow indeed. Not only were you incredibly productive with all these wonderful recipes but you were creative too ! That idea of adding the soup as a finishing sauce to the couscous sounds fab (not to meon your changes and the yummy fish). And don't even get me started on that tart- I am dying for a slice right now !! :)

    1. "meon" was intended to be "mention". :) I am stumbling along trying to learn the keyboard shortcuts of my new mac. Painful, but fun.

  5. You have certainly been busy, Such a wonderful job on everything,
    they all look so delicious.

  6. Wow! Beautiful dishes, all. I especially love how you managed to use the red peppers across the week, in so many ways.

  7. You really outdid yourself! Everything looks so delicious…especially the tart!

  8. Wow - all of your meals are making me hungry (and I just finished eating dinner!)

  9. You made good use of all the recipes you made this week. That dessert looks particularly good.

  10. Emily you are catching up FAST! Everything looks delicious!

  11. Hi Emily, yes try this with the grilled lemon chicken next time. I love your pumpkin soup but too hot for soup.

  12. Your fish with the cous cous looks really good. Although I'd also love a slice of that tart ...

  13. I bed the salad topped with the crispy fried fish was really good! Your tart looks delicious!

  14. Wow. You did so much cooking, and everything looks better than the last. The pumpkin soup and tart look especially excellent.

  15. Quite a feast! Everything looks fabulous! As you can tell, I'm behind and just now am on last week's comments - cooking starts tomorrow for this week's
