BAKE ALONG #43 : TRES LECHES CAKE

Had this particular cake on my to-bake-list and finally
bake it along with Lena, Joyce and Zoe
A full recipe gave me a loaf and two cupcakes
leaving them to soak overnight in the fridge
I had this piece with whipped cream, DH has his plain.
DH said: like that lor (he finished the cupcake)
my cake batter was not done well (crusty) as I was trying
out my new food processor - which was a mistake
anyway Tres Leches Cake Done! next item please!
The milk mixture was tasty, great on the rocks with a splash of water!

Hi Emily,

I had been thinking of baking this Alton Brown's recipe at first but decided on Pioneer woman's one for its well-reviewed status.

Can taste the difference with or without milk mixture? DH likes it plain but which one did you prefer?

Hi Emily,
My comment seems to disappear!

Thank you for baking along with us!
Have a great week!

Next item indeed lol My sponge cake was a bit undercooked in the middle so when I added the soaking liquid some area in the middle of the cake turned out a bit soggy but still quiet delicious ;D Your tres leches cake looks yummy and love the added strawberries !

Hi Zoe,

Plain as in without the dollop of whipped cream and strawberries! He had another piece for today's breakfast.
