I am on a roll
my 3rd Friday
Cooking and Baking from:
on
Boeuf à la Mode
aka
French Pot Roast
at half the recipe
*2lbs instead of 4lbs of beef
*without the brandy
so happy that HCP does the job of the oven!
and the dish was ready (fork tender) in 2 hours (instead of 3!)
time and energy saving HCP!
served with blanched carrots, mushrooms and asparagus
with twice cooked baby potatoes
bon appétit
DH will have a sandwich with beef filling tomorrow!

I made this too

So great that your first pot roast was such a success! And, this meat makes the best sandwiches!
ReplyDeleteGonna try freezing some of it first and then make a pie of it!
Deleteoops... all gone! ;)
Deleteoops... all gone! ;)
DeleteYes I am also looking forward to playing with my leftovers ;) I don't understand what the "Happy Cali Pan" is though - the link takes you to a recipe. Is it an electric skillet that you can also put on the cooktop? In any case, well done - yours looks great (this was my first one too!)
ReplyDeleteoops sorry, hope this video shows it better:

ReplyDeleteHi Emily,
ReplyDeleteWOW! Delicious plate of pot roast!
Thanks Joyce! Join me if the book is on your shelf!
DeleteGreat looking the gravy looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane! The gravy was thick enough that I need to dilute it when I am heating up the leftovers.
DeleteNice job Emily. Looks like a delicious plate for dinner.
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so delicious, a lovely dinner.
ReplyDeleteYour roast looks delish! I think I need me a HCP.
ReplyDeleteHow resourceful! I also used a smaller roast and had so much leftover sauce I froze it.
ReplyDeleteYour roast looks great! And I love the veggies, too. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOh man- I knew I should have added veggies :) Yours look amazing and that pan is really cool. Great job !!!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
ReplyDeleteLOL I dont understand if the pan is more like a pressure cooker, but I'm surprised to see how much liquid you managed to get in there! WOW!
ReplyDeleteAnd how cute that you made the apple cakes in the mermaid rings! :)
Good job! We have a lot of catching up to do!
