FFwD: Quiche Maraichère

Since I was getting my hands buttered, made two portions of the sweet tart recipe!

(one frozen for a sweet treat later!)

simple enough ingredients
yellow capsicum (instead of red), carrots and celery
all diced small
cooked to tender in a dollop of butter

custard was 1.5 eggs with cream, salt and pepper
(and the amount was perfect, not a drop less or more!)
but then again I did use an 8" not 9" tart pan.... ;)

cheddar on top ie after baking for 20mins
after another 10mins - gold!

with an all home grown green salad
(tossed into mixture of olive oil and balsamic vinegar)
arugula, sweet basil and mint leaves
but the cherry tomatoes are store bought
my tomato plant is still a toddler at the moment!

If I remember correctly, this is my first quiche?
tart shells I made a couple times before,
so pleased with myself on this recipe
its Super Delish!

  3. Congrats on making your first quiche. I hope that it will not be your last. Dorie's mushroom quiche is a favorite of mine.

  9. You were smart to make a second crust. I wish I had one waiting for me in the freezer! I'm very jealous of your home grown salad greens. It's going to be a few months before our garden starts producing.

  10. Garden produce sounds lovely. (And the extra shell in the freezer is always a great idea).
