THB #9 ~ Cinnamon Apple Walnut Torte

We at the The Home Bakers 

baked our 9th cake from
Lou Seibert Pappas'
Coffee Cakes, simple, sweet and savory
 
Cinnamon apple walnut torte
I separated the eggs and whipped up the whites first,
then the yolks with the sugar...

then combine the two

add the filling ingredients

looking good while baking
below: mmmph I seem to have an ingredient left over!

but after cooling, the torte became soggy.... ;(  bcos of the missing flour!

**What I did was separate the whites from the yolks and whipped them up separately, add the stiff whites to the whipped yolks; fold in part of the walnuts, all the dried fruit and sliced apples (and the 1/4cup flour *which I 4GOT!*); topped with the rest of the chopped nuts.

    I was laughing, (sorry!), when I read your comment at THB's Q&T regarding your missing ingredient! And I was thinking that maybe you bake this at night! It does not look soggy from the photos! Hope you enjoyed it nevertheless!! Have a great week!

  3. hi emily, your slice still looks so nice even you missed out that flour. The cakey layer that i got was just very thin and i would say for mine, it was like a fruity pie without the crust. quite tasty though.

    Forget adding flour? Your torte will be gluten-free then :D Interesting that the missing flour will create a different texture in the cake.
