TCS: January ~ The Classic Cake ~ Vintage Cakes

I am really late for January's cake choice which was a tie between
The Classic Cake and Banana with Coffee Walnut Buttercream Cake
from Julie Richardson's Vintage Cake
I made the full recipe but in sheet cake pan instead
of two 8" round pans

I have half the cake left unadorned for simple snacking
for my DH who is not a chocolate lover.....

Emily...your 'classic' looks scrumptious and I am wishing I had made that cake instead of the banana. Those 4 layers are incredible and I would eat those with or without chocolate! (ok..but preferably WITH!) Great job!

I love how you made The Classic in a sheet pan and then layered it with chocolate. I am looking forward to trying this cake, especially after seeing your one.
