This week's recipe was
choosen by Cher Rockwell!
The main ingredients were
foie gras pate or mousse
and optional black truffle
which I skipped over
and
used smoked duck breast
and bechamel sauce (pgs 375-376)
(delish!)
in place of heavy cream
nutmeg, salt and pepper to season
and two smallish eggs
steamed in single serving
steaming basket
its pretty good!
delish to be correct!

ReplyDeleteI like the ingredients that you used, a great combination. These were
ReplyDeletereally, really good, we truly enjoyed them even overcooked.
I think that I would have enjoyed your version much better than mine. Looks quite tasty actually.
ReplyDeleteEmily, smoked duck breast looks like a wonderful substitute for foie gras - so glad that you liked your version of Dorie´s recipe!
ReplyDeleteLove the change ups you did on this one. Also fun to see the steamer you used- great job. And that "shout out" to Cher for selecting this one was great,. Appreciate the sweet comments you left regarding our return- it is just WONDERFUL to be back :)
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, smoked duck. Sounds very tasty. One of my favorite FFWD recipes is Duck Breasts with Fresh Peaches. Have you tried it? I need a steamer like yours. Looks as if it did the job.
ReplyDeleteYour eggs look perfect - gorgeous steamer. I've never tried smoked duck, but I bet it was excellent with the eggs.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun seeing all the different variations of this recipe - it is giving me so many ideas. Yours looks delish!
ReplyDeleteInteresting ingredients. But they sound delicious. I thought this was ok, but not over-the-top delicious, but the method is kind of interesting - and made me get out my bamboo steamer too! :)
ReplyDeleteI like your variation on this. It's good to know that so many things taste good with coddled eggs.
