We are on the second last month baking from our current book
and I finally baked my September Cake last night!
Orange Chiffon Cake - page 27
full recipe but reduced the sugar to 1 cup instead of 1.5cups

using my favorite chiffon cake pans!

I decorated one of the two small round cakes
with the optional chocolate cream
and halved strawberries

and served a slice from the square cake
with chocolate cream and berries on the side

That made a lot of cake! It looks a lovely texture... Hope it tasted good too!

Wow that is a lot of cake! I was intrigued by this recipie but did not have the correct pan. It looks lovely though!

How pretty. I thought about this recipe but who knows where I would have found a pan even similar. Not me. I love the great big strawberries on it.

Looks like a lot of cake, but the pans are actually small especially the two round ones. I prefer last month's cake.

It seems that these chiffon pans of mine are solely for orange chiffon cakes! This is the third time I used them, and all were orange cakes!

The strawberries were normal size, just that the cake was small! I loved that I bought these when I did! Love love them pans!

PS: had the cake last night, and pleased to say the citrus flavors came together nicely.

I love your teeny tiny pans! Of course the cake looks lovely. I really like orange flavored baked goods, so this definitely has my attention.

Initially, I thought the cake was bland.. but the texture was good. After two days (I gave away the two round cakes), the sliced portions of the large cakes were... pretty good!

Your cakes look so pretty. It is funny how citrus can take a little while to develop in a cake, but I am glad to hear that it came through strong after a couple of days. I am looking forward to trying all of the choices as they all sound so yummy.

Love those petite pans! Orange chiffon cakes always seem to turn out well. Interesting that yours was better after the day made. Very pretty with the strawberry decor.
