April 2016 marks the end of cooking and baking by the wonderful members of the Cottage Cooking Club, headed by the amazing Andrea of TheKitchenLioness, from our current Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage Veg Everyday

Come May 2016, the club members will be cooking and baking from Hugh's
My copy of of RCED is said to have arrived in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
(I ordered it two months ago!)
I am eagerly awaiting the postman's knock on my door!

UPDATE!!
It just arrived!
***
Here are the dishes I made in April in the order I made them:
|
From the Chapter "Store-Cupboard Suppers“
Chickpea ketchup curry OR Ketchup chilli (page 245)
|
First time ever I used dried chickpea, which meant I learnt how to
soak and prepare them for the dish!
***
From the chapter "Pasta & Rice“
Linguine with mint and almond pesto (page 266)
|
This was an excellent meal if you are going meatless,
we had crispy skin salmon to go with it!

From the Chapter "Store-Cupboard Suppers“
Raid-the-larder bean and spelt broth (page 243)
|
I used barley in place of spelt and local bitter leaf greens,
a hearty soup indeed!

Another great month with Hugh!

Dear Emily, what a wonderful array of dishes you prepared this month. Lovely choices as usual. The soup was definitely on my to-cook list but I can out of time and sunshine(!). Glad that you and your husband enjoyed all of the amazing dishes that you prepared while being part of our Cottage Cooking Club group!
Thank you for all your lovelyyposts, kind comments, great tips and helpful hints. It has been a true pleasure cooking along with you!
Andrea
Dear Emily! A tasty line-up for the month and I like the salmon on the pasta dish, nice match. The soup and chick peas ketchup curry look delicious too! Love your enthusiasm, thanks for sharing!
That's a great selection of recipes you made this month. I enjoyed the pasta and soup as well but I think I made a mistake in skipping the chickpea dish, it's received such rave reviews.
Hi Emily, your dishes look fabulous, kind of a bittersweet month as we celebrate the accomplishment of cooking for 2 years together as a group, but then it's our last time. Looks like you are moving forward to the next book, I am so glad. I have not received the same book you are waiting for, it has been backordered in the states.
