CtBF ~ Cook The Book Fridays ~ 19 February 2016

A group of us at
are cooking from My Paris Kitchen,
David Lebovitz's latest book.
my collection

minus the fries but paired with
as hubby is cutting down his intake of starches.

Hubby and I both had very late lunches that day
and hence we shared this plate for dinner
(but hubby did looked at my half portion - longingly - a couple of times)
If you are keen to make this steak, follow this link to the recipe!
I made a few of DL's recipes from a couple of his books >HERE<

Do check out CtBF and see the results of our members
Note: We do not publish recipes at CtBF,
but certain recipe links are available at Amazon,
better still - get the book, and join us at CtBF.

And here is a catch-up from FFwD
a small portion of
coupetade (french-toast pudding) ~ pgs 419-420 of AMFT
I made french-toast with a panettone I defrosted the day before
so decided to go make this
served up with homemade vanilla ice cream

Hi Emily,
I love it that you have paired your steak with broccoli rabe! Your panettone french toast with homemade ice cream sounds good! Thanks for inviting (and "booking" wink, wink!) to cook with the lovely ladies at CtBF!

Yes that steak and fries was delicious but I love the idea of some greens!

Emily, your steak looks wonderful - and I'm sure would have tasted fabulous with your broccoli rabe! And how wonderful that you were able to make the couptade. I think I remember it as being pretty yummy!

Yum, Emily, your steak looks great! I laughed at your husband eyeing your steak longingly. So funny when they do that. Did he partake of the coupétade?? Looking at that photo made me very hungry. :)

I love broccoli rabe and it certainly goes well with the steak. Your
make up for FFWD looks wonderful, I forgot how good that recipe was.
I'm also happy that you will be cooking along on this project.

I am looking forward to making the green beans with snail butter. I nominated it the first month but the snail thing throws everyone off, I think. Making it with broccoli rabe, good idea. Don't tell anyone but I have never cooked broccoli rabe. Shame font. Your steak looks delicious. What doesn't look tasty with a lump of butter (mustard) pilled on top. Moving on to your dessert. I remember making and liking coupetade. Homemade ice cream. Yes.

I love your use of broccoli rabe instead of green beans. Yum! So perfect with this steak!

Oh, the broccoli rabe sounds wonderful with the steak! And I love that you're still working away at AMFT. I should get back to the list of recipes I missed.

I've tried leaving a comment a few times, I hope this one works!
Your broccoli rabe sounds delicious! Snail butter?! I think I need to have a closer read through the book and start thinking about how I'm going to sell that one to the kids :)

Hi Emily, Your Steak and broccoli rabe looks amazing! I served mine with some fresh green beans, we have to have some greens, don't we?
Your french toast sounds and looks luscious!

Looks wonderful! My husband is cutting back on starches too, but I still made the fries. :) He was very good and only ate a couple. I, on the other hand, ate more than my share.
